New Player · Day One

Beginner Guide

From zero to your first gold sale — everything a new player needs, in order.

Step 1 — Get set up (before the game)

  1. Install a Solana wallet (browser extension like Phantom or Solflare) and back up your seed phrase offline.
  2. Fund it with some SOL for transaction fees and to buy $KINS.
  3. Buy at least 1,000 $KINS — the game checks your balance at login. Buying a bit extra leaves room for paid spinner spins later.
  4. Connect at kintara.gg — your wallet address is your account. There's no email or password.
Safety first: logging in only asks your wallet to sign a message — it never spends tokens by itself. If a popup ever asks for your seed phrase, close it. No legitimate part of the game needs it. Also double-check you're buying the real $KINS token — meme-coin ecosystems are full of copycat tickers.

Step 2 — Your first session

New characters spawn on the Mainland with no tools and no gold. Do this, in order:

  1. Follow the tutorial NPC near spawn. It hands you your axe, pickaxe, fishing rod, and hammer, and unlocks the bank and Marketplace UI at the right pace.
  2. Set up your hotbar: press I to open inventory, then drag each tool to hotbar slots 16. The active hotbar item is what you use when you click in the world.
  3. Find the plaza fountain in the center of town — standing near it restores health quickly. This is your free healing spot.
  4. Chop a few trees on the Mainland or in Whisperwood (south portal) to learn the gathering rhythm.
  5. Open the Marketplace from the cart icon on the radar HUD to see what sells and for how much. You don't need to stand at the market building.

Step 3 — Learn the basics

Gathering

CoalPickaxeCoal clusters; some rocks; Mainland Mine
FishFishing rodWhisperwood ponds, The Pond, marked water tiles

Stackable items merge into stacks of up to 999 per slot. When your backpack fills up, bank it or sell it — don't drop it.

Daily quests

Check the quest UI every day. Objectives like "chop X wood" or "kill X mobs" reward gold, items, and XP for things you're doing anyway. Dailies are the most reliable free income in the game.

Skills

Combat, Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, and Cooking all level as you use them. Early levels come fast. Two milestones to aim for:

Banking

The bank (inside the Mainland bank building only) has 48 slots. You cannot bank from other realms, so deposit valuables before leaving town.

Step 4 — Combat, safely

Combat is simple melee: equip a weapon, click enemies, and back off during their attack wind-ups (kiting). There is no armor — cosmetics are visual only.

  1. Practice at the Armory on the Mainland — dummies and light fights, zero risk.
  2. Try the boxing ring at the arena plaza (northeast Mainland) for safe duels.
  3. Only then enter the Wilderness — real death risk, tombstones, PvP.

Healing options: plaza fountain (free), firepits you build in the field (20 stone + 20 coal + 50 wood, lasts ~30 seconds), cooked fish, and potions from your hotbar.

Rookie mistakes to avoid

Your first week, roughly

  1. Days 1–2: tutorial, hotbar, daily quests, gathering in Whisperwood and the Mainland Mine.
  2. Days 3–4: fishing at The Pond, cooking at the Roast Pit, first Marketplace listings, armory practice.
  3. Days 5–7: average skill 5 → free daily spins; first careful Wilderness trips (bank first!); start selling gold for $KINS when you have a pile worth listing.
